Classes and Activities for Babies and Toddlers

Activities for Babies Whenever my oldest son(now almost two years old) got to be about six months old, I found myself searching the internet for activities for babies. I wanted him to enhance his development in any way possible and I wanted to do something that we would be able to do together–like mommy and baby classes.

Library storytime

Zoo animals feedings

Children’s museum exhibits

Overall, my personal findings were that activities for babies–particularly, mommy and baby classes–were usually WAY overpriced for the amount of time that each activity is offered weekly. We DID do the free introductory class at our local Little Gym and LOVED it, however, I couldn’t bare spending SO much money for only 45 minutes a week.

At the end of it all, we decided that I would take our son out once a week for mommy and baby bonding time(NOT a scheduled class). I would take him to library storytimes(these are usually free), walks at the park, the zoo, and children’s exploration centers. This has been put on pause since my one month old has entered our world, but I will pick it back up soon with both of them. Though I am home with my boys ALL day as a stay at home mom, it is nice for us to get out of the house and to be in an environment where they are exploring and I am not constantly having to flex my mom muscles.

Hopefully this has been of some help to other moms who were looking for activities for babies and didn’t know where to start looking. If you have any other suggestions, please, share your thoughts for other mommies like us!
